1 week later

I lost 2 lbs in the last week. Dominick is down 4.5 lbs in 1 week. We stopped drinking soda, juice and energy drinks. We also started keeping more fruits and veggies around cut up and ready to grab. We don't have any chips or unhealthy snacks in our house. We also started substituting fatty foods with a better choice like ground turkey instead of ground beef and plain yogurt in place of butter and oil. Let me tell you tuna salad sandwiches are very yummy if you take out the mayo and use plain yogurt. I also added chopped red, green and orange bell peppers in place of pickles and onion.

Today Trinity came up to me and said she wanted to make cupcakes. She had a box a milk chocolate cake mix in her hand. I told her I would make them but I would not put frosting on them. She said ok, lets get started.

I googled 'how to make a healthier cake mix cake'. I found that if I used 4 egg whites instead of 3 whole eggs and use plain yogurt instead of oil I could cut out a bunch of extra fat. So we made semi healthy mini cupcakes and they were delicious. The texture was a little different but in a good way.

I also have to add that I hate filling the little cups. It's messy and time consuming most of the time. I decided to find a new way to fill them today. I got out my easy accent decorator from pampered chef filled it with the batter and pumped it into the the little cups. It was very fast and very easy. I do have to clean an extra 2 pieces but that is as easy a rinsing it and putting it into the dishwasher, no big deal.

Biggest Loser

Dominick's office is doing a Biggest Loser thing for money. The first weigh in was this morning. Dominick brought a box of donuts to work with him this morning. I am sure the office loves him for that.

Dominick decided that we should do a Biggest Loser between him and myself. So we will see how it goes.

I figured out that if I lost 11.5% of my weight I would be back to my Wedding Day weight. That would be 17 lbs to lose in the next 3 month. Dominick has a lot more weight to lose. If he lost 11.5% that would be 32 lbs. We'll see... I think the weigh in is once a week.

I weighed the kids just for fun today. Trinity is 3' 7" and weighs 37 lbs. Nicholas is 3' 6" and weighs 40 lbs. It's funny how many people think they are twins because they are so close in size. People can't believe it when I say they are 2 years apart.

Beautiful Day

Today was Donuts with Dad at Trinity's school. While Dominick and Trinity did that Nicholas and I went for a walk. Well, I walked and Nicholas rode his bike. It was a little cold this morning but the sun was up. It was a nice 30 minute walk.

This afternoon the kids have been outside riding bikes and playing in the backyard. They are skipping naps today because of the nice weather. Hopefully it will be an early bedtime tonight and not 2 cranky kids.

Good choice

I was wanting something sweet and yummy to eat tonight. I don't keep junk food in my house because if it's not there you can't eat it. So, I go to my pantry and find 2 cans of frosting (cherry and confetti) a box of cake mix and two bags of cookie mix that my Mother-in-Law brought over for the kids today. I was ready to grab the confetti frosting and a spoon until I remembered that in my refrigerator I had a bag of cuties.

I peeled and ate 2 of those little cuties and that fixed my craving for sweet and yummy.

On a side note my Mother-in-Law thinks it is horrible that I don't keep sugar filled cookies and snacks in my house at all times. She also always brings a bottle of juice for the kids when she babysits because I don't buy juice all the time. I do buy juice more often than candy and cookies but juice is a treat for my kids not something they have everyday. They drink milk and water and eat as much fruits and vegetables as they want each day.

My kids are happy and overall pretty healthy.

Trinity lost her first tooth!

Trinity's tooth has been very wiggly and we have tried to get it out for days. She however didn't want us to touch it. She didn't want to wiggle it because she thought it might hurt.

So, today she was eating a piece of garlic bread and she swallowed the tooth.

Trinity was concerned that she would not get a special surprise under her pillow since she didn't actually have the tooth. I told her that she has to write a letter to the tooth Fairy. Which is what I had to do when I swallowed my tooth when I was her age.

Trinity's Haircut

I took Trinity to get her hair cut after preschool yesterday. She has never had it cut by anyone but me up until yesterday.

Trinity has never had bangs so I told them to do a little side swipe bang. She loved all the pampering and attention that they guy gave her. He told me she was the easiest 5 year old haircut he had ever done. Normally kids 1) don't want a haircut 2) don't hold still 3) hate the blow dryer. Not Trinity.

She is already a little high maintenance I don't want to imagine what it will be like as she gets older.

Trinity used to bite her nails (finger and toe) from the time she could. I told her she could not have her nails painted until she stopped biting them. She has not bit them since. A 3, possibly 4 year habit broken just like that.

Randomness...

First off, Trinity has her first loose tooth. She is very excited! She has wanted to eat apples and carrots to help loosen it some more. We have not told her about the possibility of blood that comes with a lost tooth. She will find out soon enough.

The kids were both sick for 4 days each. They were throwing up and sleeping a lot. Of course they were not sick at the same time but one after the other. That threw me off for awhile. Hopefully they are not going to be sick again for a long time. Somehow, Dominick and I didn't get the virus or whatever it was.

I got my haircut today! I have wanted to cut it for a long time but Dominick likes it long. For Valentines Day he took me out to dinner. After dinner he said here is money to get your hair cut. Cut it however you want it.

I did want the layers to go up higher but I forgot my pictures at home. I think it looks cute like this though. I think I am going to dye it too but I have not completely decided yet if I am going to.
