The Zoo again

We will be going to the Zoo quite a bit this summer since we have a Zoo membership. They have all kind of fun events going on like concerts and fun events. The kids love going and seeing all the animals. Plus walking around is good for them. We got rid of the strollers when Nicholas was 2 because I figured he was more than capable enough to walk by himself and it's so much easier getting around not having to push a stroller.

So here are some pictures from today's Zoo visit.

Trinity monkeying around

The mountain goats always look so unkept but apparently they shed in the summer.

In other news Trinity only has 2 days left of preschool, tomorrow and Tuesday. Wednesday she has a kindergarten visit to see her new school and meet the teachers. We have heard rumors that Kindergarten will be 3 full days instead of 5 half days starting this fall. I am assuming that they will talk more about that at the parent orientation on Wednesday.

Nice weather

The kids have been loving the great weather we've had. Our camera battery was dead or we would have more pictures. The kids had fun playing with the hose, blowing bubbles and helping fix up the backyard.

I can't believe Trinity is almost done with preschool. She only has 1 week left. She has had a good year. Her teacher says she is so good and polite in class. I was very happy to hear that because she is not always nice and polite at home. If she didn't act up and tell me no sometimes I would wonder what was wrong with her. We do want her to have an opinion of her own.

Fieldtrip to the Zoo

We went to the Zoo with Trinity's preschool class today. It was the AM and PM classes together so there were 20 kids all together. It was not very warm and it rained part of the time. We had a good time. Each adult had 2 kids to keep track of so that made the day pretty stress free and easy.

At one point it was a pretty good down pour of rain but we just took shelter and ate lunch. By the time we were all done eating the rain stopped and we were off again looking at the animals.

We went on the short train ride around the Zoo which gave us all a chance to sit and relax. It gets you a little closer to some of the animals so the kids enjoyed that. There is a long train ride that goes to the Portland Rose Gardens and a huge playground but we didn't have time for that today. When I take my kids next time we will probably take the long train ride.

The kids all got new animal hats to wear so we could easily see them in a crowd. Not that there were any crowds today but you never know. All of the kids were really good!
