Birthday Boy!

Nicholas turned 3 today. I can't believe how fast the time flown by.
He got a hair cut the other day so this picture makes him look like a big boy.
At his 3 year Dr appointment they said he is 3' 2.5" tall and he weighs 38lbs.

His birthday party is on Saturday so there will be more pictures soon.

Haircut for Trinity

I gave Trinity a haircut yesterday. Her hair is so curly and fine that it tangles into a matted mess. I have tried conditioner (kids and adult) detangle spray and even hair grease. After all of that it ws still hard to bruch through. She said (while I was brushing her hair) that she wants a hair cut like Nicholas so it wouldn't hurt when I brushed it. I cut it so now it's right below her shoulders after it curls when it dries. I still put the grease stuff in it because it keeps it from frizzing out. However, I didn't have to use detangle spray and it was much easier to brush.

purple flowers

Trinity was wearing a purple dress on Tuesday. While she was playing in the backyard I thought her purple dress matched the purple flowers we have. She has to pose if the camera is pointed at her.

Pancakes!

One thing my kids would eat everyday, anytime of the day. Even my picky eater Trinity eats her weight in pancakes when we have them. I put the leftovers (if there are any) into zip lock baggies and the kids eat them plain for a snack the next day.

For my pancakes I buy a huge industrial size bag of pancake mix (Krusteaz) at Costco. Then I follow Rachael Ray's YUM-O recipe. I mix together; 2 cups of the mix, 1-1/2 cups of milk and 2 eggs. Then make the pancakes as usual. Normally the Krusteaz mix is a just add water pancake mix. I like to find ways to get extra vitamins and minerals into my children.

I think I am going to start doing a "project 365" where I will take one picture everyday and post about it. I have seen a few people doing this and I think it will get fun.

Nicholas is having a football birthday party. I made this poster to hang up for part of the decorations at his birthday party.

McEnulty reunion 2008

Saturday morning we got up and drove to Fort Stevens in Hammond, OR (just under 2 hours from our house) for a family reunion. The kids slept almost the whole way there which was very nice. Fort Stevens is a very nice park with a lot to do. They have trails all over for walking and bikes, you can rent paddle boats, canoes or kayaks. When we were there they had a little area set up where kids could learn to fish (for free).

Soon after we arrived at the park everyone started coming. There were a lot of people there, most I'd not seen since last years reunion. We ate and talked and the kids played and explored "the jungle." It's always fun to see how much the kids grow from year to year.

Dominick, the kids, and I stayed the night at the campground located in the park. Cousins and their kids plus my brothers and 2 of my nephews stayed the night also. It was fun we had a campfire and Jordon played some guitar and sang some songs for us. We drove to the graveyard where many of our family who have passed away are buried. We visited with them it was nice.

Before we headed home we visited the ship wreck. Which is always fun to do. My cousin and her kids plus her nephew came down with us to see the ship (or should I say part of the ship). Trinity got wet while we were there. She can't help but get wet if there is water anywhere. The car ride home was uneventful, the kids and I slept most of the way.

Can't wait until next year to do it again and go camping for a few night with the gang.

rearranging furniture already!

So we decided that after 7 years our couch is ready to move on to the playroom along with the lovely rocking chair that Dominick's Grandmother gave us (she used to rock Dominick in it as a baby). Since Dominick works at Night and Day furniture we got an awesome deal on a couch and luv seat lounger (pictures to come later as it is on it's way here). I have been moving the old furniture and getting things how I want them for the new furniture.

Fun stuff!

It's getting closer to Nicholas' 3rd birthday. He is getting a new big boy training wheel bike. His little trike is getting too small for him (his knees are almost hitting the handle bars). He was with me when I bought it (it was in a box not assembled). When we got home he said "Can I ride my new bike?" I said "Lets go eat some cheetos." His favorite snack, then it was nap time. He has not said anything about it yet since he woke up. I think because it was in a box not in the shape of a bike he might be confused and is definitely not as excited as he is going to be when he sees the bike assembled.

Yesterday at my Mom's house Nicholas took a nose dive on the sidewalk.

Directionally Challenged

Yup, directionally challenged is the best way to describe me.

Today the kids and I went out for a walk. I knew that there was a little store not too far away. My goal was to get to the store and buy the kids a little snack or something. I Googled mapped our neighborhood and found it. My next idea was to try and stay in the neighborhood where there are side walks the whole way.

I didn't tell the kids where we were going just in case my plan didn't work out. It was however, pretty easy to find the store. We only had to turn twice. Then on the way home I had to remember which ways we had turned. I was thinking "did we go the right way? It seems like if we turn again we would have turned too many times." I looked across the street and there was our red jeep, in our driveway, at our house =)

I was looking into getting a blackberry pearl cell phone just for the fact that it has the option of adding GPS. You pay an extra $9.99 more a month to make it a GPS. It might be worth it (for me). It will talk to you and give you turn by turn directions. Which seems nicer than just having a GPS in your car because it would be with you even when you don't have your car.

**Dominick found this snake in our front yard the other
day while he was mowing the lawn**
I never get this close to snakes but I thought it's blue eyes were pretty cool. Dominick took the picture while I was safely inside the house =)

7 year wedding anniversary

Dominick and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary yesterday. It started out with both of us working all day. Then my MIL watched the kids so Dominick and I could go out. We stopped by the mall and bought me some new work pants. Then we headed to Outback Steakhouse. YUM! We started out with a bloomin' onion (we took over half od it home with us) and a couple of drinks. I had a strawberry cucumber martini (sounds weird I know but it was good) I also had a New York Strip steak w/ garlic mashed potatoes. Plus because we told them it was our anniversary they bought our dessert for us. A HUGE (too big for 2 people) slice of chocolate chocolate tower cake with raspberry sauce.

We could have gone somewhere else for a really good steak but we like outback because the service is ALWAYS good, they have never messed up an order, they know how to cook steak and they have the best garlic mashed potatoes ever.

We had a good time w/no kids for a little while.

This morning I got up and ate my leftover steak and potatoes for breakfast. They were still good the next day =)

4th of July party

We had a party at our house for some friends and family. It was not as big as we normally have but we decided at the last minute to go ahead and have one. We grilled some hamburgers (sirloin burgers from costco) and hot dogs.

(Blake holding Andrew, little guy in back Logan, girl w/pigtails Leeah, Cody grey t-shirt, Dylan black tank top, Trinity green dress, Rachael pink tank top, Sarah red tank top and My little man in the orange shirt Nicholas)

The kids all played and had a bunch of fun. When it started getting dark we lit off our fireworks and then we watched the fireworks one of our neighbors were lighting off. They spent over $2000 on fireworks and put on a pretty good show. They blocked off a street with signs and saying road closed.
It was a fun night. Everyone enjoyed the free (well, free for us) firework show.

Nicholas being silly

I can't believe my little boy is almost 3. He's getting so big and independent. He still likes to snuggle when he gets tired though. He also still stands in the bathroom and talks to me while I am taking a shower. One day I am sure that will change too.

Nicholas really wanted to wear Trinity's tutu. I had to get a picture for blackmail later.

Playing the wii... he loves the boxing games.

He was "dancing" and ran into the wall with his head.

He was crying because Trinity wouldn't let him play the wii.

almost done...

We are completely out of the old house. The new house is almost put together. The kids are taking the move and new house pretty well. Nicholas doesn't always like change so I thought he would need some extra attention in the transition. He slept all through the night since the very first night in the new house. He hasn't liked playing upstairs by himself but today he sat in his room and played with his cars for a little bit.

I have to have the house ready for our 4th of July party on Friday. I just have some little things left to take care of. I feel like I have been going non-stop for the last month.

I've taken a bunch of pictures lately but my card reader and cable that connects the camera to the computer are still packed.
