Grilled Pizza

I went and bought a Papa Murphy's take'n'bake pizza for dinner tonight. The pizza came with directions to cook the pizza on an outdoor grill. So I decided to try it. I just put my round pampered chef stoneware on the grill and turned the 2 outer burners on high. I heated the grill up to 450 degrees. I placed the pizza on the grill and cooked it for 10 minutes. I then rotated the pizza and cooked it for a few more minutes until the cheese was melted and the edges were goldenbrown.

As long as the pizza fits on the stone and it is not touching the sides of the grill the pizza will be delicious and crisp.

I didn't take a picture of the pizza before we cut into it and ate it but this is similar (ours had chicken on it) to what it looked like.

Broken Arm

Saturday night Trinity jumped off a chair (that Nicholas was spinning) trying to land on the couch. She missed! She cried a little but Dominick didn't think much of it. He figured she was tired (it was past bedtime) and not hurt that bad. He looked at her arm but nothing seemed out of place or swollen. He gave her some Motrin and put her in bed. I was not home when it happened so when she woke up in the morning she told me her arm hurt. I looked at it and then felt both arms. Her left one was definitely swollen now.

We got in the car and headed to Urgency Care. They took x-rays and said it was dislocated. They popped it back into place and said she would be ok in the next day or 2.

This morning I got a call from the Dr who had seen Trinity the day before. She said they sent Trinity's x-rays to the pediatric radiology specialist (or something like that) and that they would like to see Trinity soon. She said she would have the specialist call back with a time they could get her in. I hung up with the Dr. A few minutes later I received a call saying they want her in ASAP because her arm was broken and they wanted to get a splint or cast on it.

I left work picked Trinity up from my mom's house and took her to the Dr. They did some more x-rays of different angles. The Dr looked at the new x-rays and said he definitely wanted a cast on her arm.

Trinity now has a bright pink cast from her armpit to her wrist. Over the past few days she has barely even complained that her arm hurt. She also didn't cry very much when she broke it. I have broken bones and I have to say it hurts a lot. But her broken arm has not slowed her down at all.

HOT!

When it's hot outside what do you do? Go find some water to play in!

I took my kids and Rachael (my niece) to the lake today. I think Trinity and Rachael kept each other entertained and wore each other out. Nicholas really doesn't play in the water like Trinity does so she doesn't think he is very fun to play with at the lake.

Nicholas took a really long nap when we got home. Trinity and Rachael played at our house while he slept. Then when we took Rachael home Trinity slept in the car all the way to her house. Trinity continued her nap all the way to the restaurant we were meeting people at for dinner.

For dinner we met my family; Mom, Dad, Jordon, Jared, Ammon and Jared's friend Brook at Tiger's Garden, really good Thai food. Dominick tried a new thai food which was cashew stirfry w/chicken. He normally gets pad thai noodles w/chicken. I had the Green Curry w/chicken and it was delicious. Trinity had her favorite sticky rice (we also asked her to eat some chicken). Nicholas ate his weight in sticky rice and chicken. I almost got him to eat a salad roll (tofu with vegetables) basically an egg roll that is not fried. Of course at a Thai restaurant on a hot day you have to get an iced thai tea.

We had a good day. Trinity and I don't mind the heat but Nicholas and Dominick don't like to be too hot or too cold.

New furniture

So I finally have the new furniture how I want it in the living room. I took pictures of them before but I didn't like how they looked in the room so I didn't post them.

They are both futons but they are not ordinary futons. A lot of people have mentioned how comfortable they are. The lounger with the ottoman/footrest thing slides in so it doesn't take up as much room. However, I think it's very comfortable with it open. So if we want more room we close it.

Here are pictures of what the lounger can do. The picture at the top of the post is back tilted back footrest up flat.

Making Memories

We went to the Clark County fair yesterday. We arrived at about 10:45am. First things first eat some fair food before the lines were long and while there were plenty of tables to sit at. Dominick had some Pad Thai noodles with chicken, I had Green Curry with rice, Trinity had a hand dipped corndog and Nicholas had lemonade (he didn't want food). Good stuff.

When we finished eating the ticket booth's were open. We all got a bracelet and started the rides. Trinity couldn't go on all the rides she wanted to but she went on all the ones she could several times. Trinity was about an inch too short to go on the rides that were the next step up. Next year she will be plenty tall enough.

Nicholas was weary about some of the rides but by the end of all the rides he had a big smile on his face. Nicholas even went on the tilt a whirl with Trinity and I. He loved it.

We took a break and watched the Demolition Derby. The Demolition Derby may have been Nicholas' favorite part of the whole day. I am not sure I would want to be one of the drivers but it was fun to watch. Trinity picked which one was going to win the second round and she was right.

Nicholas was so tired and worn out by 4pm. I ended up having to to carry him part of the way back to the car. He fell asleep while I was carrying him. Dominick and Trinity stayed to play some more. At about 6:30pm they took the bus from the fair to the transit center not too far from our house where I picked them up.

We were all pretty worn out from the day. We all went to bed at about 9pm and slept till about 8:30am. It was fun and I am glad that it's just once a year.

Laughing at other misfortunes

(I cheated and stole this picture off his myspace page)

I could not help but laugh when I read my brothers post;

so i just moved to North Park (district in SD) and went to go outside to smoke. Open the door and right there in front of me is this Huge skunk, with his tail over his head, ready to shoot. I scream "OMG, NO!!". . . then slammed the door on my leg, fell down and hurt myself. Then the skunk sprayed the hell out of my door and a little bit on me. My place stunk so bad for days!! Since then, I've noticed the skunk every night. I mean just the other night I was having drinks with a date on the patio in the back yard and he looks at me and says "did you know that there's a huge skunk in your backyard"? I just saw the skunk again last night. Dont know what to do. I'm guessing they are here cause I live so close to Balboa Park and the San Diego Zoo. But seriously, only roaming skunk attacks happen to me. How do I solve my problem? I'm finding myself acting sneeky everytime i want to go outside.

I can picture in my head all of this happening to him.

It's HOT lets go swimming

Klineline is not all that far from our house. I had not been there for years, probably since I was in high school. The kids and I decided we would go swimming today. Trinity jumped in a away she went. She knows how to swim but since Dominick was not with us I had her wear a life jacket. I know she is a daredevil and not scared of the water at all, it made me feel better. Nicholas is still a little weary of the water but I had him wear a life jacket too just in case. Trinity swam all over and Nicholas stayed where he was comfortable and splashed around.

After playing in the lake for awhile we wandered over to the waterpark area where the water sprays out of the ground. Then we dried off a little and played on the playground. Both the nice new playground and waterpark area are new since last time I was there. We are definately going back again soon, hopefully with Dominick too.

I can't help myself

The Lite Brite is so fun to play with. My friend Amanda came over the other day. Amanda and I "helped" Nicholas make of the stencil pictures with the Lite Brite. Then today I was playing with is by myself while I was watching the kids play with bubbles outside.

The Party

Nicholas had a good birthday party. He had his cousins all come over. The kids played, we ate pizza and Chicken Alfredo (for those of us that didn't want pizza), opened some gifts and then ate cake.

Nicholas' favorite gift was a card from Mana and Papa (my mom and dad) that sings Ittsy Bittsy Spider when you open it (the battieries don't run out very fast in those cards). He also got a nice little truck from Tutu (Dominick's Grandmother) that makes lots of noice. Emily, Jeremy and kids went to build a bear and made a Seattle Seahawks teddy bear for Nicholas (very cute).

My favorite things was the Lite Brite. I am not looking forward to picking up all the small pieces all the time. I think it's pretty fun to play with though (brings back childhood memories) Plus, it helps with small motor skills. That is small motor skills for Nicholas, mine are pretty good already =)
