Chocolate

My kids love Chocolate. Last night I bought Dibs and Popsicles . I put the Dibs on the top shelf of the freezer and Popsicles at the kids eye level. This is what I found them doing...

They pushed the chair over to the freezer. Using an empty wrapping paper tube to reach the back of the top shelf they got the Dibs down.

A day at the park

Yesterday Nicholas and I went to the park by the river. I brought the camera along to take pictures. It was Trinity's picture day at school so I thought it was a good time to get a picture of Nicholas too.

In about 2 hours I took 166 pictures. I transferred them to my computer later and weeded through some of the out of focus and/or weird face ones. I still had 115 pictures left. I got a lot of very cute candid moment pictures. After cropping and a little here and there I think I got a very good one to blow up for his "yearly" picture. I will make you wait to see that one until I get Trinity's pictures back =)

This first picture reminds me of Dominick so much. The scowl he gets =)

Like most kids he loves throwing rocks into the river. I normally say not to do it if other people are around for safety but we were the only ones on the beach.

This last one was taken the same day and I thought it was pretty...

taco pizza maybe?

I don't know what to call this. Trinity called it taco pizza but it's not really a taco pizza. It would be a pizza. Maybe cheeseburger ranch pizza.

I took a premade uncooked thin pizza crust, spread ranch all over it for the sauce (I don't usually like red sauce). The next step was to put cooked ground beef with taco seasoning cooked into it. I topped it off with shredded cheese (I used medium cheddar). I cooked it at 375 degreese for about 18 minutes.

The kids loved it! I loved how easy it was to throw together.

I was going to buy some tomatoes to put on it too. However, I had Trinity with me at the store and she was not behaving. My mind was just trying to get out of the store with enough stuff to not have to go back tonight.

At the Park

Nicholas and I found a new park today. It's about a 2 or 3 minute drive from Trinity's school. The park is big and it kept Nicholas entertained. I think that one will be a good one to go back to. We can walk there from Trinity's school.

I need to keep a Frisbee and and some outdoor balls in the back of my car. I should do that while I am thinking about it.

Trinity went to the Dr again (5th time in a month). They took more x-rays and said her arms is healing great. She now has a removable cast which I am excited about. I don't have to worry about getting the cast wet when she takes a bath. We can also have her move it around a little to start gaining the muscle back. She didn't lose a whole lot but she also didn't have a lot to lose. She will go back in 4 weeks for her final appointment.

Chickenpox or bug bites??

Trinity got the second half of her chickenpox vaccine on the 4th. A few days ago she broke out in little red dots. Two on her forehead, 2 on the back of her left leg, one on the front of her right leg and two on her butt. I looked into it thinking it could not be chickenpox because she has been vaccinated against it. It turns out you can still get chickenpox it's just normally a mild case.

Today the dots look the same as they did a few days ago. She is not itching them and she doesn't have any other symptoms. From what I have read if they were chickenpox they would have been filled with puss by now and itchy.

I sent an e-mail to her Dr with some pictures of the dots. Her Dr doesn't think they are chickenpox because they are not following the pattern of chickenpox. Maybe they are bug bites. She has been playing out side quite a bit lately. She is prone to bug bites for some reason. If there is a bug that bites anywhere around it will find her.

I just thought it was weird that a week after her vaccine she broke out.

backyard pond

We have a pond in our backyard and it is finally up and going. Dominick got six, 6" goldfish for his birthday. We have frogs, big and little ones that like to lounge next to the pond. Today we were watching the frogs and there was a little baby snake slithering around. Trinity wanted me to pick it up so she could see it closer. I don't get close to any snake big or small no matter what.

I also thought this picture was cute. Nicholas was drinking chocolate milk out of the little bottle and had a chocolate ring around his mouth.

Baseball

Trinity and Nicholas have been playing tee ball in the backyard lately. Nicholas can hit the ball left and right handed with the same accuracy. He loves playing outside. I hope he is always active.
Trinity can hit the ball too but I am sure it will be easier for her when she gets her cast off. So she can extend and swing her arm fully. The ball ends up in the pond quite a bit, I always have fish it out.
After Nicholas and I drop Trinity off at preschool we find a park to play at. Yesterday we went to a park close to the river that has a nice walking/bike path. Nicholas rode his bike while I walked beside him. We went down to the beach and watched airplanes take off from the PDX airport. We also saw different boats go by. Nicholas always enjoys throwing rock into the water.

I think he enjoyed the 2-1/2 hours he got to spend with me 1 on 1. During the rest of the year we will have to find other things to if it is raining outside though. I was thinking the library or swimming at the community center. I will have to see what else there is to do around Trinity's school. I don't want to waste the gas going home and back again to pick her up.

First day of preschool

Trinity is about to head out the door to her first day of preschool. She is very excited. She had all of her clothes picked out, her backpack ready and she drew a picture of Miss Miki. Today she is just going for 1-1/2 hours just to ease into it. Then tomorrow is a full day, 2-1/2 hours.

Trinity is 5

Trinity is 5 now! She is very excited to be starting Preschool.

We had a birthday party for Trinity a few days before her birthday. Lots of family and friends came to celebrate with her.

Trinity really wanted a skateboard for her birthday. So we got her a skateboard along with knee pads, elbow pads and wrist guards (she already has a helmet). I told her she cannot ride the skateboard outside until her cast is off (4 weeks to go).

Trinity loves to watch infomercials. She has wanted a pancake puff for a very long time. We got her a pancake puff and she was very excited. Everyday she wants to make new things.

Dominick

Trinity got a Fred Meyer Gift Card for her birthday. She saw a box of Barbie cereal that she wanted so she bought it. Last night I caught Dominick pouring himself a bowl. I grabbed the camera that was sitting next to me. He heard me so I had to take the picture fast... notice his smile. He didn't think I was really post the picture.
