Seaside, OR 4/12/08

Trinity and I at the beach

Dominick and I took the kids to Seaside, OR on Saturday. It was beautiful and we had a great time. It seemed like we had a hard time finding a parking spot because of all the people who had the same idea we did. But after we parked and started walking around it didn't seem like there were that many people.

First things first, we had to stop at the little mall and use the bathroom (it's so nice not having to change diapers anymore). The kids went on the carousal that is in the mall. Then we went on a few rides. Trinity loved the tilt-a-whirl. I had to go on it with her because Dominick gets very motion sick. Next we all went on the bumper cars. Surprisingly, Nicholas really liked the bumper cars. We then had to find a kite shop because somehow we lost our kite string at home. We found some string and walked down to the beach and flew our kites. I had to chase Trinity's kite down twice because she let go of the string. It's good thing it was not a normal windy day at the beach or the kite would be gone.

Trinity loves water so she wanted to go swimming but we had to explain to her that it was not a good day to swim in the ocean. So she was just going to put her feet in a little bit. We ended up having to change her whole outfit. She can't help it, she's part fish.

Nicholas didn't like the sand... or the water... and he really didn't like the wind blowing on his face. He sat on our beach mat, ate some crackers and leaned over enough to play with the shovel in the sand.

After we got Trinity out of the water and into some dry clothes we ate some ice cream on waffle cones. Then we ate some food at a little diner. I know I know dessert before real food but it was the direction we were going. By the time we were done eating the kids were done for the day. Perfect timing, we got back into the car and they slept most of the way home.

Jealous! Seaside on a beautiful day... and NO DIAPERS! I still have that problem... grrrr!
Taylor will NOT touch the sand either. She is bundled head to toe and sitting in a camping chair on the beach. That is as close as she gets. At least your big man TRIES to play in the sand... sort of. ;o)
